Financial analyst is a collective term for individuals that assist businesses and individuals when making investment decisions. They are typically employed by banks and other companies with high amounts of investment assets, like Goldman Sachs.The role of the financial analyst is not limited to decision-making; their suggestions are based on long hours of investment research. This research is used to follow current and projected trends in the stock market, bonds, mutual funds, and other investment sources to allow clients the best possible outcome. Financial analysts have the ability to accurately and effectively analyze and report information, and quickly make decisions. There are numerous specialties and sub-specialties within the financial analyst career. The two main specialties of financial analysts are those that work on either the buying or selling side. Analysts may also work to manage funds, make risk assessments, manage portfolios, or determine the credit ratings for companies like Moodys. Within these specialties, financial analysts may choose to focus on specific countries or industries.
